Covid-19 Support Updates
To kick things off there have been some major updates with regards to COVID-19 Support over the past couple of weeks The Furlough Portal has now gone live, the government has launched a new Bounce Back Loan Facility and we have had an extension to the Furlough Period as well as some great news for some Self-Employed Business Owners.
Furlough Portal
This has now gone live, having opened Monday 20th April. The first payments will be made from 30th April, then ongoing payments are estimated to hit accounts 4-6 days after submission.

You can claim 14 days ahead of time to help cashflow. i.e. if payday is the 30th, you can apply through the portal on the 16th so the funds are available for payday.

You must keep written records for 5 years (allows HMRC time to investigate fraud).

Can claim weekly or monthly depending upon how staff are paid.

Bounce Back Loan Facility
Rishi Sunak has announced a new loan that will be made available, specifically targeting the SME businesses requesting under £50,000. This new facility will be 100% backed by the government and will be similar to CBILLs in that it will have a 12-month grace period where there will be 0% interest and no payment requirements.

If you have already applied and had your CBILLS loan accepted, it can be transferred over to this new facility, providing it meets the requirements (i.e. under £50k).
